Protesters are demanding more investment in education and healthcare, while saying the protests have increased hope for change.
Thousands of protesters have gathered today in front of the Prime Minister's Office building, in the 45th consecutive protest against the government of Prime Minister Edi Rama.
With banners, flags and calls against the government, the participants declare that they have no intention of withdrawing from their cause and that the protests will continue until Prime Minister Edi Rama resigns.
According to the protesters, the country needs more investment in vital sectors, such as education and healthcare, while they criticize the organization of festive activities and concerts, which, according to them, do not solve the problems faced by citizens.
"We want schools and hospitals, not concerts," was one of the most repeated messages during the rally, where participants demanded that public funds be directed towards improving services for citizens.
The protest was also marked by political accusations against the government. Protesters said that, in their opinion, the country's leaders have entered politics for personal gain and not to serve the citizens. They said that corruption, immigration and economic difficulties are the reasons that have driven them to protest week after week.
Despite the large number of protests held so far, participants insist that they will not give up on their demands. According to them, the continuity of the rallies has created a new civic spirit and increased the belief that change is possible.
Protesters say that each rally has brought more awareness and participation, emphasizing that their cause is not only related to a political demand, but also to the need, according to them, for a more accountable government closer to citizens.
The rally is taking place under increased security measures, and no incidents have been reported so far. The protest is expected to continue with speeches by the organizers and citizens participating in it.
