The Italian authorities have destroyed an Albanian gang, which was specialized in the theft of apartments.
The investigations started after the robbery of a villa in Iseo, where the police managed to identify the criminal group, mainly composed of Albanian citizens and staying in Italy irregularly.
Italian media reports that the men are responsible for at least 16 attacks carried out in the provinces of Brescia, Bergamo, Milan, Monza and Brianza, Pavia, Piacenza and Reggio Emilia and 4 car thefts.
But who are the arrested?
10 people of Albanian nationality ended up in prison: Alberto Mema, Mustafa Banushllari, Altin Zeqiri, Dorjan Rusi, Endri Hysi, Hamit Pashë, Anesti Arapaj, Dario Ferro, Marku Bardhok, Ilirjan Emini.
Meanwhile, the measure of house arrest was given only to a 75-year-old Italian, who did not participate in the theft, but only supported the gang with logistics.
The criminal group, which had a logistical base in Rozzano, was discovered by Brescia police footage after the violent robbery committed on January 11, 2023, at the Iseo villa of Brescian entrepreneur Roberto Botti.
Three members of the gang, masked, had waited for the 59-year-old to return home, then under the threat of a gun, hitting him, forced him to open the door. Then they opened the safe to take money and jewelry. Meanwhile, the entrepreneur's wife was also raped.
To escape, the thieves had used two cars, which later turned out to be stolen and on which plates stolen from other cars were placed.
