Seven people have been arrested by the police in Laç, following an operation carried out by the Lezha Police and the Tirana National Police, against a group suspected of distributing drugs near schools.

The police announced that four people were detained by order of the prosecution, while two others were arrested in flagrante delicto for the criminal offense of "Production and sale of narcotics", committed in collaboration.
Police seized doses of the narcotic Cannabis Sativa, mobile phones and equipment that were allegedly used for drug distribution and organizing gambling.
During the operation, a place where computer games of chance were organized, in violation of the law, was also discovered. In connection with this case, the owner of the place was arrested, who is suspected of not having registered the activity and employees with the relevant authorities. According to the police, he is the father of two of the people arrested in the operation.
" The Narcotics Investigation Sector, the Operational Support Section and the "Eagle" Special Force Sector, of the Lezha Police Department, and the Rapid Intervention Forces (RNF) of Tirana, in cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Lezha, finalized the police operation codenamed "Perimeter 2".
The operation was finalized after several months of investigations using special methods, based on information obtained through operational means, about several citizens who were carrying out the criminal activity of selling narcotics, in doses, in the city of Laç.
As a result of investigative and operational actions, it became possible to legally document this criminal activity, detain 4 citizens and arrest 2 others in flagrante delicto, all residents of Laç, Kurbin, as suspects for the criminal offense of "Production and sale of narcotics", committed in collaboration.
Investigations suspect that these citizens were obtaining the narcotic substance Cannabis Sativa, which they divided into doses and sold in various areas in the city of Laç, in some cases even near schools.
Also, during the operation, 1 premises where gambling games were organized, using computers, in violation of the law, was discovered. In this case, the owner of the premises, the father of 2 of the arrested citizens, was arrested, who had not registered the entity and its employees with the competent authorities.
"The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Lezha, for further action ," the police announced.
