The daughter of Frrok Bardhi, who was arrested along with his son, Everest Bardhi, during the protest held in front of the Parliament, has reacted to the 35th nationwide protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office, stating that she is in the square to demand justice and not to incite hatred.
In her speech to the protesters, she said that her father and brother were raped during the protest, while emphasizing that she is proud of their stance.
"My father and brother were raped during the protest. I am proud of them both. As a daughter, this hurts me. I am not here for hatred, but to seek justice. No one should be raped for participating in a protest. I call on you to raise your voice with dignity, calmness and courage. Justice is the right of every citizen," she said.
The statement was made during a massive anti-government protest, attended by citizens from Albania and the diaspora. During the rally, demands were repeated for the release of protesters arrested after clashes that occurred during the protest held in front of the Parliament.
Frrok Bardhi and his son, Everest Bardhi, were arrested after the July 2 protest, and their case is expected to be reviewed by the justice system.
