Nine people have been arrested by the police in the capital as part of the "Joker" operation.
They were arrested in flagrante delicto organizing gambling in violation of the law, in a bar in Sharre.
Police said they seized 1 poker table with chips, cell phones and a DVR device.
Services of Police Station No. 6 following the work to combat the illegal activity of gambling, based on the information provided by the information intelligence for a case of exercising this activity, have organized and finalized the coded police operation "Joker".
As part of this operation, the following citizens were arrested:
- D. Xh., 29 years old, resident in Tirana, for the criminal offenses "Organizing or practicing gambling activities in violation of the law" and "Making premises available for illegal games", provided for by articles 197 and 198 of the Criminal Code;
– OM, 35 years old, EH, 23 years old, A. Xh., 30 years old, LQ, 22 years old, E. Gj. 33 years old, EH, 24 years old, EK, 33 years old, and J. Ç., 39 years old, for the criminal offense "Organizing or practicing gambling activities in violation of the law", provided for by Article 197 of the Criminal Code.
During the controls, the Police services caught the 9 arrested citizens red-handed playing games of chance in violation of the law, in a bar managed by the citizen D. Xh., on "Llambi Zeçishti" street, in Sharre.
As material evidence, 1 poker table with chips, mobile devices and a DVR device were seized.
The materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office for further action.
