Police have provided details regarding the drug house that was discovered today in Lezha.
It is learned that a father and son and an OSHEE employee have been arrested. It is reported that 4 other OSHEE employees have also been placed under investigation for dereliction of duty.
From the search conducted in the apartments of the arrested, 180 grams of suspected cocaine, 1 revolver, 1 rifle and 1 sporting weapon were found and seized as material evidence.
"Firearms and sports weapons, combat ammunition, cocaine, cannabis, premises adapted for the cultivation of cannabis, cannabis seeds and hundreds of cultivated cannabis plants. The operation codenamed "Second floor" is finalized. In a three-story building in the village of Rrilë, 4 premises adapted for the cultivation of narcotic plants and their drying, with equipment that was supplied with illegal electricity connections, are discovered.
8.8 kilograms of suspected narcotic substance cannabis (dried), 1064 plants, 960 seedlings and 850 cannabis seeds, 106 light bulbs, 180 grams of cocaine, 3 firearms, 2 sports weapons, 1 vehicle and 4 mobile phones were seized. Investigations suspect that this criminal activity had been carried out for several months. 2 citizens (father and son) were caught red-handed in these premises and arrested.
1 OSHEE employee is also arrested, suspected of being an accomplice in this criminal activity. 4 other OSHEE employees are under investigation for abuse of office.
The services of the Lezha Police Commissariat, in cooperation with the services of the Lezha Local Police Directorate, based on information provided about a case of cultivation of narcotic plants, in a facility in the village of Rrilë, have organized the operation codenamed "Second floor".
During the operation, the Police services conducted a search of the 3-story building and found that on the second floor of this building, 4 premises were set up for the cultivation of narcotic plants, with lamps, and for drying them, with the aim of preparing them for sale. The verifications revealed that there were illegal electricity connections in this building.
During the intervention, the Police services caught the following citizens red-handed in this environment and arrested them:
-A. Gj., 57 years old and A. GJ., 22 years old, father and son, suspected of being the perpetrators of this criminal activity.
Following the actions in the case:
- citizen Gj. D., 59 years old, employee of OSHEE, was arrested, suspected of abuse of office and as an accomplice in the cultivation of narcotic plants;
- the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office where proceedings were initiated in the absence of 4 employees of OSHEE, citizens MP, A. Gj., E. R and OT, suspected of abuse of office.
From the search conducted on the second floor of the building, the following were found and seized as material evidence:
-8.8 kg of suspected cannabis narcotic substance (dried), 1064 suspected cannabis narcotic plants, 960 suspected cannabis narcotic seedlings, planted in cubes, 850 suspected cannabis narcotic seeds, 106 transistor lamps used for the cultivation of narcotic plants;
-1 automatic firearm with two combs with cartridges, 1 sports pistol with cartridges, 1 vehicle and 4 mobile phones.
From the search conducted in the homes of the arrested citizens, 180 grams of suspected cocaine, 1 revolver, 1 rifle and 1 sporting weapon were found and seized as material evidence.
Investigations suspect that this criminal activity had been going on for several months. Investigations are ongoing to fully document it and identify other citizens who may have been involved.
"The procedural materials will be referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Lezha, for further action," the police announced.
