"Let's kill him first", messages on SKY ECC sink Franc

The trial for the murder of Ardit Spahiu has begun in Belgium, where investigators read thousands of messages exchanged through the Sky Ecc app between the nine defendants on Monday.

The trial against Franc Çopja, known by Belgian authorities as Frac Gergely, and eight other defendants began this year, on January 5.

From the messages read at Monday's hearing, it appears that Flobenc Meçja, accused of being the executioner, had been following the victim for several days in Brussels.

"I hope we can finish this masquerade by the end of the month, because I have to return to Albania because my wife is about to give birth," Flobenc Meçja writes to Franc Çopjas on November 19, 2020.

On November 27, 2020, at 5:56 PM, Flobenc Meçja sent a series of emojis: six raised fingers and four figures of people with their arms raised, followed by the word “Ciao.” The message was addressed to Franc Çopje.

A large part of the messages read during the session are related, according to investigators, to Flobenc Mecjan and Mikael Qosjan.

According to the criminal organization chart of the federal prosecution, Franc Çopja's Sky Ecc code served as a connecting point between Flobenc Mecja and Mikael Qosja.

The court hearing will be adjourned and will resume on Wednesday, where more clarity is expected on the course of events and the role of each accused.
