In the mega-operation to stop the sale of narcotics near schools, which led to 233 people behind bars, among those arrested is Elgert Gjoni.
In the nationwide operation involving 3,000 officers, 23 criminal groups suspected of distributing cannabis, cocaine, heroin and ecstasy near schools and universities were destroyed.
One of the arrested persons who is expected to be known to the security measure in Tirana is Elgert Gjoni, the person who provided the cannabis from Canada.
The investigation revealed that he is the person who provided cannabis bulbs from Canada. The young man has been kept under observation by anti-drug agents for months, and he has even been intercepted, as incentivized purchases were made to prove his drug distribution activity.
According to the interceptions, it turned out that a dose of the substance that he brought from Canada by mail was sold for up to 300 euros.
In the interception, Elgert Gjoni is shown communicating with one of the buyers identified as Enea, and the latter asks him to provide him with such a dose. But, as soon as he is informed about the effects caused by its use, the buyer first tells him "no, my friend, I don't want to die" and then agrees to buy the dose the next day.
It is learned that the arrested Elgert Gjoni was based in the New Ring area. Mainly, he used Instagram to communicate with clients. In one of the cases, the infiltrated agent also communicated with him on this social network to buy the dose of cannabis he was bringing from Canada.
