
Two people have been arrested by police in Pogradec after allegedly attempting to take a 17-year-old hostage, assaulting him and injuring him with a knife.
It is reported that the incident occurred in neighborhood no. 3 of the city, where after a conflict, the suspects attempted to force the minor into their vehicle.
He managed to identify and locate the suspected perpetrators, who fled the scene in a vehicle after the incident. They were arrested in cooperation with the Prrenjas Police services.
According to preliminary investigations, citizens Marjo Xhangolli and Aljan Hilaj , residents of Pogradec, are suspected of having acted for weak motives. They have exercised physical violence against the 17-year-old and have injured him in the hand with a knife while trying to take him by force.
It is reported that the minor has received medical assistance and is out of danger.
At the end of the procedural actions, the two young men were arrested in flagrante delicto for the criminal offenses of "Illegal Deprivation of Liberty", committed in collaboration and attempted, as well as "Intentional Light Injury". The materials have been referred to the Korça Prosecutor's Office for further investigations.
