The Prosecutor's Office of Saranda has issued a restraining order for the 45-year-old American Kelly Grigg. She was arrested on February 23 of a year ago after a house search by the police of Saranda, which cooperated in the operation with the Special Police Unit "Joint Shield" as well as with the Diplomatic Security Service/Criminal Investigation Office (DSS/OCI of the American Embassy in Albania).
Grigg's arrest was made after a very small amount of "ecstasy" and "cannabis sativa" residue, as well as a knife, were found in his apartment.
The court of Saranda released him by imposing the security measure "property guarantee" in the amount of 8 thousand euros and "obligation to appear".
However, Grigg seems not to have respected this measure, forcing Judge Suela Xhani on June 14, at the request of the Prosecutor's Office, to change the measure by already appointing "Arrest in prison".
Meanwhile, the prosecution has issued an order for the execution of this measure, causing the police of Saranda to announce Grigg as wanted.
According to the Prosecution, from the verifications in the TIMS system, it appears that on March 18, Grigg left Albania through Rinas and never returned.
Although her lawyer said that she was correct in applying the measure, but as she informed the Court in a session, her mother was seriously ill, this did not convince the Prosecution and the Court not to change the measure safety.
The truth behind the arrest of American Kelly Grigg
Although the arrest of American Kelly Grigg in 2022 was said to have come after a search of the apartment that revealed drugs and cold weapons, the motives of the police in the apartment were quite different.
According to the investigative file "Initially on 24.11.2021 the Prosecutor's Office at the Sarandë Judicial District Court registered criminal proceedings no. 772 of 2021 for the criminal offenses of "fraud" when it brought serious consequences and "production and sale of narcotics" carried out in the form of sale, where the object of the investigation of this criminal proceeding was the activity carried out in the territory of the Republic of Albania by the citizen Robert Preston, 60 years old.
More concretely, the activity of the American citizen Robert Preston is related to his use of documents produced electronically, among others the documents named "Service Agreement" and "Promissory Note" drawn up in English, which bear the electronic signature of the American citizen Robert Preston, these documents which he used in electronic communication or communication via social networks.
In the framework of the investigative actions carried out, from the information provided with the application of special investigation methods, it has been learned that the American citizen Robert Preston considers the American citizen Kelly Grigg as someone very close and reliable to him, a citizen who it is suspected that he is also aware of the fact that the American citizen Robert Preston had managed to deceive different people in order to benefit from different amounts of money.
The American citizen Kelly Grigg during the years 2021-2022 lived in an apartment found on "Lefter Talo" Street, in which, according to the information provided, suspicions were formed that documents (contracts) with forged contents and logos could be found. of U.S. institutions, as well as a pistol-type firearm, items allegedly given to the American citizen by citizen Robert Preston in order to avoid a possible surprise search by the law enforcement agencies, as it is suspected that he had received information from the American citizen Denyce Serkin, who had reported him to the Prosecutor's Office of the Court of First Instance of Saranda.
From the information provided, it also emerged that the documents suspected to be found in the American citizen's apartment were used by the American citizen Robert Preston in order to defraud different people for material gain by presenting himself as an employee of the American Department. of State or secret agent of various services of the USA. Under these circumstances, within the framework of the preliminary investigations for this criminal proceeding, the Prosecutor has deemed it necessary to exercise control in the apartment of the American citizen.
Thus, on 23.02.2022, a search was carried out in the apartment of the American citizen Kelly Grigg, during which it was possible to find and seize as material evidence 7 grains which are suspected to be "ecstasy", 1 box inside which there was "canabis sattiva" residue and 1 metal knife. Also, during the control of the American citizen's apartment, among other things, 1 document with the inscription "Coast Guard of the United States" with the number "197986 in the name of the citizen Robert Preston, 1 document with the inscription "Central Intelligence Agency" (CIA) with the number "197986" in the name of the citizen Robert Preston, these documents were sent to the Tirana Scientific Police Institute to submit to the graphic technical examination,
