
Drug trafficking and participation in a criminal organization are the charges that the Italian police have filed against an Albanian wanted by justice in Italy.
The Albanian was detained and arrested in Madrid on January 21, while the 40-year-old was declared an international wanted man.
He was arrested with the cooperation of the Albanian and Spanish police. But it later turned out that he was also wanted in Brescia, and the arrest was communicated for this purpose.
The investigation has led to the discovery of 40 people implicated in the drug trafficking network from South America to European ports and the issuance of 20 precautionary measures.
He was among the wanted persons on the list, extradited from Spain and the charges were communicated to him in the detention cells in Brescia.
Investigations into the organization began at least three years ago, for the transportation of tons of cocaine to several EU countries, Italian media report.
The group had ties to Colombia, Ecuador and the United Arab Emirates, while financing the trafficking of large quantities of drugs for the cartel.
