"The 30-year-old, with a significant criminal record in the field of drug trafficking and twice convicted as the leader of a criminal group operating in the town of Lecco near Milan/Italy, was arrested as a result of the operation. Two citizens, drivers of a passenger transport minibus, in whose luggage weapons and combat ammunition were found, were also arrested. 5 Kalashnikov-type automatic firearms were seized; hundreds of combat cartridges and 4 cartridge combs," the police announced.

The seizure took place at the border between Slovenia and Italy, where the minibus departing from Albania and bound for Italy, driven by suspects EM and AD, was stopped.

"The investigations of the Lezha Police made it possible to identify citizen FM, 30 years old, born in Shkodër and resident in Hot in Malesia e Madhe, who had sent the weapons to Italy in exchange for financial gain.
