A State Police operation has been finalized with the arrest of a 27-year-old man and the seizure of 12 pistols, which he had trafficked from Kosovo to Albania, with the aim of selling them in Tirana. The arrested man has been identified as Dugagjin Berisha, while from a video released by the police, it is clear that he was being kept under surveillance and the vehicle in which he was traveling was surrounded by dozens of armed police officers.
An official announcement states that during the operation at the exit of the Grand Ring Road, near the Tufina overpass, the Police services located the suspect vehicle and intervened by stopping it.
During the search of the "Volkswagen" vehicle driven by the 27-year-old, specifically under its hood, 10 Glock firearms with combat ammunition were found and seized.
The weapons were to be sold in the Fresku area of Tirana, while investigations continue to identify and uncover other people involved in this activity.

Successive operations to prevent and crack down on firearms trafficking from Kosovo to Albania continue.
Another case of weapons trafficking is being cracked down on by the Tirana Local Police Directorate.
After several weeks of investigations using proactive methods, the police operation codenamed "Barriera" is finalized.
12 firearms, pistols and combat ammunition were seized, which were suspected of being sold in Fresk.
Their possessor is put in handcuffs.
The Crime Investigation Specialists of the Police Commissariat No. 4, in cooperation with the Operational Force of the Tirana DVP, under the direction of the Tirana Prosecution Office, within the focus on preventing and combating firearms trafficking and based on the information collected, as a result of investigations conducted with proactive methods, over several weeks, have finalized the operation codenamed "Barriera".
As part of this operation, citizen DB, 27 years old, resident of Kosovo, was arrested in flagrante delicto.
During the operation at the exit of the Grand Ring Road, near the Tufina overpass, Police services located the suspect vehicle and intervened by stopping it.
During the search of the "Volkswagen" vehicle driven by the 27-year-old, specifically under its hood, 10 Glock firearms with combat ammunition were found and seized.
As part of this proceeding, two other Glock pistols were also seized, for a total of 12 pistols.
Investigations revealed that the 27-year-old would sell the weapons in the Fresku area.
The investigative structures of the Tirana Local Police Directorate, in cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office, continue in-depth investigations to identify and capture other citizens involved in this arms trafficking.
The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office for further action.
