A 22-year-old man has been arrested by Tirana police after being caught red-handed transporting 2 Kalashnikov firearms from Burrel to Tirana.
22-year-old Ardit Doçi is suspected of having received orders from a criminal group operating in the Fresku area to purchase weapons.
The two seized weapons would be sold on the market for 800 euros each because they were old models. The arrested person is suspected of having connections to another person, caught a few days ago with a firearm.
He has a criminal record for drugs and weapons.

The services of the Police Commissariat No. 4 have received information that a citizen was circulating with a firearm in a vehicle. As a result of the rapid administration of this information, the codenamed "Tunnel" operation was organized and finalized, during which the citizen was arrested:
AD, 22 years old, resident of Burrel.
During the operation, in the Murriz tunnel, the Police services stopped the vehicle driven by the 22-year-old, in which, during the search, they found 2 Kalashnikov firearms and 4 rifle magazines hidden in the trunk.
"The investigations suspect that this citizen was transporting the weapons to Tirana, to sell them on behalf of criminal groups. Investigations are ongoing to document this criminal activity, identify and capture other citizens who may have been involved," the police announced.
