
Four pharmacy administrators have been arrested in Fier for selling smuggled medicines in their pharmacies. Shezai Yzeiri, 65, Anxhela Xhemali, 59, and Pleçe Byzyka, 36, were arrested. Meanwhile, Tereza Plaka, 53, is free and will be investigated.
Smuggled medicines, worth approximately 800,000 lek, were found and seized in the subjects and their homes.

As a result of proactive investigations, pursued for several months, within the framework of Operation "Medicine", with the objective of cracking down on the smuggling of goods, citizens Sh. Y., 65 years old, A. Xh., 59 years old, PB, 36 years old and TP, 35 years old, were arrested in flagrante delicto. Also, proceedings were initiated against citizen TA, 53 years old.
From the checks carried out in the pharmacies managed by these citizens, as well as in their homes, medicines without fiscal stamps from the National Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices, worth around 800,000 lek, were found.
"The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Fier, for further action," the police statement said.
