The court released the "strong" from the cell of Durrës, while imposing the security measure of "house arrest".
The Durrës court has placed under house arrest the two brothers Kreshik and Erneo Farruku, the heads of the "Farruku Clan".
The most wanted persons surrendered at the Durrës police station after being declared internationally wanted by Italy for drug trafficking.
Farruku is the head of the Farruku clan, known for criminal activities. After his surrender, the authorities are continuing the investigations and related procedures, while Farruk will face the charges for which he is wanted.
Farruk surrendered last night around 22:00 to the Durrës police, accompanied by his defense lawyer. He is wanted by the Italian state for extradition purposes.
Kreshnik Farruk's name appeared recently also in the interceptions of Sky Ecc in the file of former MP Jurgis Çyrbja.
From the conversations transcribed by the Sky Ecc application, it emerged that the former deputy gave secret information to the wanted Kreshnik Budllas. Çyrbja informed him to check the environment around his apartment, as he had information that he might be under observation by the employees of the Information Service.
We recall that in December 2024, the Special Court confiscated 27 assets of this clan, registered in the name of Kreshnik Farruk and brother Erneo Farruk.
Among the confiscated assets are several properties in Tirana and Durrës, apartments in luxury buildings, vehicles and businesses. Assets have been seized due to suspicions that they have benefited from criminal activities, including drug trafficking and money laundering.
The two brothers led the Farruku clan, a group that was busted in Spain in 2023 after a mega-operation against cocaine trafficking. In the 2023 mega-operation, 2 tons of cocaine were seized that were allegedly ordered by the Farruku clan in Ecuador and were to be brought to Spain. Kreshnik Farruku Budlla is the Albanian with 10 names to escape justice and with assets over 1 million euros.
