Extradited from Spain, hearing begins at GJKKO to verify security measure for former Durrës gang leader

The hearing for the assessment of the conditions of the security measure for Lulzim Berisha, the former leader of the Durrës gang, who was extradited from Spain to Albania two days ago, begins at the GJKKO.

The Special Court in 2020 imposed the security measure "Arrest in prison" on Berisha for the criminal offenses of "Premeditated murder", "Murder under qualifying circumstances", against 2 or more persons and "Unlicensed possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition", committed in the form of a structured criminal group.

The 54-year-old, in collaboration with several other individuals, injured 2 people in 2004, and in 2005, he shot and killed three people and injured another.

Lulzim Berisha was arrested in Spain in December 2023 for the purpose of extradition to Albania.
