This morning, on August 26, 2024, the convicted citizen Erlad Helshani, born on February 23, 1981 and a resident of Kavajë, passed away in Rrogozhina Hospital.
"Helshani was found unconscious by his co-sufferers while he was taking a shower. Despite the immediate intervention of the institution's doctor, who accompanied him to the hospital, Helshani died at 09:15 at the Rrogozhina Hospital.
Helshani was treated for hypertension and high levels of fats in the blood during his stay at IEVP Rrogozhinë. He was sentenced to 4 years and 8 months of imprisonment for the production of narcotics.
The incident is being investigated and all necessary procedures have been followed. The Internal Control Service in Prisons (SHKBSB), the Rrogozhin Police Station, the Prosecutor's Office, and the family members of the deceased were immediately notified", announces the General Directorate of Prisons, which expresses "its most sincere condolences to the family of the deceased" .
Erland Helshani was arrested by the Kavaja police on April 1, 2023, on the charge of drug production and sale. The Court of the Kavajë Judicial District has sentenced him to 4 years and 7 months of imprisonment, for the criminal offense "Production and sale of narcotics".
