Who was Fotaq Zaharia?
This character, considered during the years 1997-2007 as the strongman of Vlora, due to the robberies and hostage-takings he committed, was sentenced to 24 years in prison by the Court of Serious Crimes.
On June 17, 2001, Fotaq Zaharia, together with Ermir Habili and Armando Bega and Haxhi Hoxha, escaped from the detention rooms of the Vlora Police Station, where they were under security measures "prison arrest" suspected of having committed several crimes criminal, such as "theft" and "kidnapping for profit".
