The Court of Tirana has set the security measure "Prison arrest" for Edevaldo Haxhiaj.
He was arrested a few days ago by the Tirana police after a firearm, a comb pistol and ammunition were found in his car. The 39-year-old resident of Tirana was arrested on 'Frang Bardhi' street and a quantity of cocaine was also found in his car.
He is accused of "unlicensed possession of weapons" and "possession and production of narcotics".
In the hearing, Haxhiu claimed that he is a user of narcotics and that the amount found was for his own use.
Regarding the weapon, he refused to give an explanation.
Edevaldo Haxhiu is a well-known name after he helped hide the Turkish cryptocurrency boss, Faruk Ozer, who was arrested earlier in our country. Haxhiu did not cooperate with the police to reveal the location of Faruk Fatih Özer, described as the Turkish "cryptocurrency boss".
Absconding from Turkey with $2 billion he stole from his company's employees, Thodex founder Faruk Fatih Ozer was arrested by the Albanian police in August 2022.
