Three Colombian citizens have been arrested in the city of Elbasan, after being caught red-handed practicing prostitution in two apartments.
According to the police, citizens DP, 20 years old, DM, 18 years old, and JD, 34 years old, were arrested in flagrante delicto, and are accused of prostitution. Meanwhile, the owner of the apartment, MJ, 34 years old, has been criminally prosecuted for maintaining premises for prostitution.
During the search of the premises of two apartments where the illegal activity was carried out, amounts of money suspected of being obtained from prostitution, cell phones and various documents were seized.
"After several weeks of investigations using proactive methods, the police operation codenamed "Transit" is finalized. 3 Colombian citizens who were practicing prostitution in 2 apartments in the city of Elbasan are arrested in flagrante delicto. The owner of the apartment is being prosecuted at large. Amounts of money in various currencies, suspected to have been obtained from this illegal activity, identification documents and mobile phones are seized.
The Trafficking Investigation Section of the Elbasan DVP, in cooperation with the Operational Support Section, as a result of intensive investigations conducted with special methods, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, finalized the operation codenamed "Transit".
Investigations proved that prostitution was practiced in two apartments in the city of Elbasan by foreign nationals, who contacted clients through websites.
Following the procedural actions, the following citizens were arrested in flagrante delicto: DP, 20 years old, DM, 18 years old, JD, 34 years old, all three Colombian citizens, for the criminal offense of "Prostitution".
Also, the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office where criminal proceedings were initiated against citizen MJ, 34 years old, owner of the apartment where the illegal activity was carried out, for the criminal offense of "Maintaining premises for prostitution".
During the search of the premises where this illegal activity was carried out, sums of money in various currencies, suspected to have been obtained from this activity, mobile phones and various documents were found and seized as material evidence.
" The work continues under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office to fully document this activity and to identify other citizens who may be involved. The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Elbasan, for further action," the police announced.
