New details have been published by Italian media regarding the murder of 25-year-old Albanian Kevin Muharremi, by his compatriot Renato Xyke.
According to preliminary investigations by Italian authorities, the conflict between the two young men is suspected to have started due to a minor damage to a vehicle. Sources from the investigation indicate that the initial argument took place a few hours before the fatal incident and then escalated, culminating in the use of a firearm.
Investigators are verifying whether the subsequent meeting between the parties was coincidental or organized with the aim of clarifying the conflict.
According to a preliminary reconstruction of the incident, Kevin Muharremi was in the passenger seat of a vehicle when he was shot three times. Suspect Renato Xyke, also of Albanian origin, is suspected of firing several shots at the vehicle from a dark gray Range Rover Evoque.
Despite the rapid intervention of emergency services, the 25-year-old did not survive his injuries.
After the shooting, the suspect Xyke is reported to have fled the scene. According to Italian media, the weapon used in the crime is suspected to have been abandoned in the Montecalvoli area. The 20-year-old is then said to have headed towards Rome with his family.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the departure and whether there were other people who helped hide evidence or organize the movement after the event.
The Italian prosecution and police are analyzing the testimonies of those present, footage from security cameras in the area, as well as data from the cell phones of the people involved, in order to fully uncover the motive and dynamics of the crime.
One of the key points of the investigation remains determining whether the meeting in Montecalvoli was planned to resolve the conflict or whether the clash occurred spontaneously.
