New details have been learned from yesterday afternoon's gun attack in Fushë Krujë, where the former prison police officer, Gentjan Bejtja, a well-known name in the world of crime, was executed with a Kalashnikov rifle.
It is known that during the night there were house checks and escorts of persons with criminal records in the area.
About 50 Kalashnikov cartridges were found at the scene, which are suspected to have been fired from 2 different weapons, while the "Land Rover" car and its license plates were found to have been stolen in Shkodër in August 2023.
The murder of the 43-year-old in the yard of his apartment is suspected to have been a coded message by the perpetrators. On the other hand, Bejtja's family members did not cooperate with the police to provide his itinerary before the crime that shocked Fushë-Kruja.
The testimonies of family members do not help the investigation
After the event, Bejtje's family members were the first to be questioned.
They have not admitted to having conflicts and their statements have not helped the investigators much to have a concrete track for his murder.
During yesterday evening, several people with criminal records, such as Valter Bami, were accompanied, but so far there are no suspects.
Yesterday, after Gentjan Bejtja's execution, the perpetrators' car was found burned about 5 kilometers away from the scene, in the village of Hasan, while inside there were also 4 burned Kalashnikovs, which are suspected to have been used by the executioners for the assassination.
