The Court of First Instance in Berat decided today, October 30, the security measure "prison arrest" for 63-year-old Kastriot Oxhaj (alias Kristo Mema), accused of "intentional murder".
The incident occurred on October 28, in the presence of the victim's family and children.
According to him, 42-year-old Keli Hoxha, a resident of Tirana but originally from Tropoja, had insulted and cursed him by his family. In the courtroom, the perpetrator expressed remorse and apologized to the victim's family for the crime he committed.
The incident occurred at around 15:10, in the Kalasë neighborhood, where citizen KM (alias KH), 63 years old, resident of the “Barrikadë” neighborhood of Berat, is suspected of having attacked 42-year-old Keli Hoxha, resident of Tirana, with a cutting tool. The latter died at the scene as a result of the injuries he sustained.
The 63-year-old has been charged with intentional murder under Article 76 of the Criminal Code and Article 228 et seq. of the Criminal Procedure Code.
