Details have emerged from the serious accident in Fushë-Domje where a 2-year-old child lost his life. It is learned that the minor was fatally injured this evening after being hit by a vehicle.
It is reported that the child was playing in the yard of the apartment and then went out into the street. During this moment, a "Benz" type vehicle driven by 58-year-old Ylber Manarkolli was moving at high speed and hit the child.
The driver fled the scene, but his escape did not last long. He was arrested by police two hours after the accident, and it is learned that the driver of the vehicle was the victim's neighbor.
Initially, the family took the child to the Kamza polyclinic and then to Trauma, where he later died.
"Thanks to rapid procedural and investigative actions, the Police services have made it possible to identify and apprehend the driver of the vehicle, which caused the accident resulting in the death of the 2-year-old.
The driver of the vehicle, citizen YM, 58 years old, was taken to the police station for further procedural actions. The “Benz” vehicle with which this citizen caused the accident was also found and seized.
"The verifications have shown that the accident occurred in Fushë Domje and not in Kamëz. Work is underway to fully clarify the circumstances and cause of the accident," the police announced.
