Suspicions of a truck driving erratically in the Port of Valencia have led Spanish police to discover a large load of cocaine.
Inside the heavy vehicle was the driver and two other people hidden behind the cab seats. After inspecting the truck, the agents found 142 packages, weighing one kilogram each, with a white substance that, after a good analysis, turned out to be cocaine.
The three people traveling in the vehicle were arrested for crimes against public health, as they were trying to get the drugs out of the port of Valencia. It is about a 35-year-old Argentinian, a 33-year-old Albanian, who allegedly did the work of a 'notary' to prove the collection and delivery of illegal goods, and the driver of the truck, of Spanish nationality.
The arrests occurred when police officers conducting surveillance at the terminal observed a truck already heading for the exit doors after taking a suspicious route. Before the heavy vehicle left the port premises, the agents intercepted it, with the support of members of the facility's private security.
The truck driver did not resist, as did the other two suspects, who were hiding in the cab.
The Number One Investigative Court of Valencia agreed to the temporary imprisonment, without the possibility of parole, of the three arrested for crime against public health for drug trafficking causing serious damage to health.
