The Court of Korça has decided the security measure of "prison arrest" for Alma Beqiri. The session started at 10:00 and lasted 2 hours.
Alma Beqiri is accused of having fraudulently embezzled an amount of 3 million euros for the period 2021-2023 as an agent of private postal services in Korça and Pogradec.
In the meantime, the testimony of Alma Beqiri in the courtroom has been revealed. She claims the whole story was made up by the postal company. She said that she is indebted to the company in the amount of 200 thousand euros and not 3 million as claimed.
" I am only in debt for 200,000 euros against the post office, while the rest is a farce created by the entity ," said Beqiri.
Beqiri requests an independent audit. It was the post itself that reported the 46-year-old to the police after an audit found that 3 million euros were missing from her coffers.
