In her rare confessions, Luiza Xhuvani has preferred not to talk much about her private life, focusing mainly on her profession as an actress. But in one of the interviews, she has revealed an unknown part of her life and her journey towards art, showing that her career was not at all the result of a simple choice.
According to Xhuvan, she could have been a doctor or an engineer today, but her biography limited by the communist regime forced her to follow a different path.
She explains that she had a special childhood, lived in different conditions than many other young people, as she grew up with her mother alone, while her father was away. Her last name carried the connection, but a tragic event from the family's past would help shape her destiny.
Her father's brother, a former partisan, was executed by the communist regime, an event that further burdened her biography and limited her opportunities for further studies.
In the years of the dictatorship, young people had limited opportunities to choose the profession they wanted, and Luiza was forced to follow a different path. She admits that she could have chosen a different field, such as medicine or engineering, but because of her biography, it was impossible. So, she entered the acting contest and won it. After this success, Luiza entered the High Institute of Arts, where she became a student in the years 1982-1986.
And although the period was very difficult for students, especially for those with complicated biographies, Luiza remembers that time as one of the most beautiful years of her life.
She experienced studying to be an actress as a dream come true, an opportunity she was very lucky to take advantage of. In this journey, she has had teachers and mentors who have guided her with a lot of love and dedication, such as Timo Flloko, Skënder Plasari, Drita Pelinku, Vera Zheji and Kadri Rroshi. According to Xhuvan, this was one of the factors that helped her become the actress she is today.
This story of Luiza shows us that an artist's life is often influenced by events and circumstances that are out of his hands and that passion and dedication to art can survive even in difficult conditions.
