The singer-songwriter Frederik Ndoci has narrated one of the most difficult periods of his life.
He has shown the difficulties he had to face when he left to live in Italy. Frederik Ndoci said that while he worked all day as a mason, in the evening he cried in the toilet, why he left Albania.
" There was a master who made plaster walls. I helped to mix the plaster, to carry the buckets. To build scaffolding. I did this for 8 months. When I went to dinner, I would remove those pieces of plaster that fell on my hands. I cried in the bathroom, what have I done to myself that I ran away from Albania to lift 50 kilo bags.
This was the reality, I suffered. When the orchestra was absent one night, I told them I was singing. The priest told me, will you sing in Albanian? You said no, I know these songs that they sang, I know English, French, I know them all. Come on, he told me, That's how the mason became a singer", said Frederik Ndoci for "Profil ", in Euronews Albania.
He said that he would like to have been born yesterday to enjoy the opportunities and freedoms that were missing during communism.
Asked if he has a pawn, Frederik Ndoci answered: " Pang yes, I was born yesterday." I would be a different person with a different opportunity, with these freedoms, the knowledge I have and the mental maturity but also with the readings I have done. But I'm afraid that if I had been born yesterday, I would be worse than today's youth, not all of them, because they don't read, they don't deal with themselves, with what God has forgiven you, freedom. They don't understand, they want to create freedom where there is no freedom ".
