Albri, a model citizen, who was not separated for a minute from the worries of his Shkodra. Without being influenced by the wild noises that this frenetic life brings...
Agreed! Shkodra of Migjeni, Father Gjergj Fishta, Dom Ndre Mjeda, Gurakuqi, Rreshpje, Drini, Kraja and other endless names in its history. Most of whom were not born in Shkodër, like Arshi Pipa, but also many others.
But the Shkodra of the fall of communism was a gray Shkodra. A city in agony, since in the first days of its freedom some strong, tough ones appeared, coming from politics.
As time went on, some educated people appeared who opened newspapers, wrote essays, poems, and said what they thought.
And in this group, a new generation of poets, writers and journalists was protected, including Shpëtim Këlmendi, Gazmend Grasniqi, Ridvan Dibra, Blendi Kraja, Irhan Jubica, Sokol Pepushaj, but among them was another boy from Shkodër who sought to bring in attention to the past of this city, which they considered and still consider as a great national asset. He was Albër Brahusha, a writer, activist and playwright who passed away at the peak of his age.
The society of this group of intellectuals was very similar to the narratives of Europe divided by the impressionists, the lost generation, the expressionists, the utopians or even the revolutionaries.
And there was no other way for such intellectual movements to start from Shkodra, which had given a lot to Albania from the Pashallaku of Bushatllinje, to the Saverian and Jesuit colleges; from the Kosovo Defense Committee to communist ideas.
Albri Brahusha was one of the activists of the 90s who came to the public as a quiet voice, without noise, without bothering anyone to bring an opinion that his generation had been grinding for a long time.
Together with his friends, Albri was among the first in society to bring voices, ideas and projects to the city. Then came creativity, dramas, but without being separated from his citizenship as a value that not only Shkodra, but above all Shkodra, was to him like a log, like an agora of a free saying.
The life of a man, a citizen is of course the same, equal, but society stops and reflects on the values he has given to the city. And Albri, was a model citizen of the city, who was not separated for a minute from his worries. Without being influenced by the wild noises that this frenetic life brings. He was a writer, who wrote and said what he wanted, who thought to promote the values of his city, even outside the general state logic. It is no coincidence that Albri was more popular in Kosovo than in the rest of Albania, since Shkodra, as it has been in the past, has had Kosovo as its cushion of thought. A soft and warm alliance support of a cultural closeness.
Even today, the media of Kosovo have given more voice to the loss of Albri Brahusha, than those of Tirana. As Albri was more published in Kosovo than in Albania, even though he had many supporters and admirers.
With Albr, Shkodra really lost a voice, which should not be distributed and limited. But it should be strengthened, because these are voices of that intellectual nobility, which the new generation, especially Shkodra, needs. Which should live from the voices of its own thinkers, by publishing and promoting them. Because they brought life, citizenship, and above all humanity. Albri Brahusha was a pure human who wanted to give Shkodra his uncontaminated mind to move forward, without affecting humanity and citizenship. Values that today are endangered by the dangerous noise of ignorance and commercialism./ Pamphlet
