The Prime Minister is accompanied in Saudi Arabia by two mayors, Emirjana Sako of Durrës and the commander in the Municipality of Vlora, Elis Halili.
Prime Minister Edi Rama is one of the participants in the Future Investment Initiative conference in Riyadh.
Rama arrived in Riyadh yesterday, accompanied by the Mayor of Durrës, Emiriana Sako, and the acting mayor of the Municipality of Vlora, Elis Halili.
They were participants in the reception hosted by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, which took place at the Royal Palace in Riyadh.
The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral relations between Albania and Saudi Arabia, as well as preparations for the prince's visit to Tirana next year.

Present at the conference, which will run until October 30, in addition to Prime Minister Edi Rama, are also Ahmad Al-Sharaa, the president of Syria; Han Zheng, the vice president of China; Shehbaz Sharif, the prime minister of Pakistan; Paul Kagame, the president of Rwanda. Also present at the conference being held in Riyadh is Vladimir Putin's special envoy, Kirill Dmitriev.
It is not known whether Prime Minister Edi Rama will have a meeting or not with Putin's special envoy, Kirill Dmitriev, who was engaged in negotiations with the Trump administration to end the war in Ukraine.
But from London, where he participated in a summit on the Berlin Process, a few days ago, one of the questions addressed to Prime Minister Edi Rama was whether or not he had ever met with Vladimir Putin. Rama stated emphatically that he had not.
Rama emphasized that Albania is a special case in relation to Russia, recalling that relations between the two countries have been frozen.
"We are the only country in all of Europe where no one has come from the Kremlin and no one from our side has gone to Moscow to visit the Kremlin. This has to do with our history. We considered them traitors, degraded, who did not deserve our society. We were the only beacon of communism in Europe," Rama said.
The Prime Minister added that Albania has never had sympathy for the Russian regime: "We don't like Putin and the current Russia, we don't miss it. We have never been tempted by Russian oligarchs. Russian music is more than enough," he said.
In fact, Rama had a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Serey Lavrov while the Prime Minister was chairing the OSCE. The meeting took place in 2020 and at the time Rama stated that it was a difficult meeting to reach a result.
Regarding the Riyadh conference, according to Richard Attias, chairman of the FII Institute Executive Committee, this year's conference would feature "many agreements" in several key sectors.
"My instinct is that we will surpass 2024, I'm sure of that too," he added, referring to last year's event, during which deals worth more than $70 billion were signed.
The FII Institute will also launch a new venture program aimed at accelerating the growth and success of impact-driven startups that aim to create positive social or environmental change as a core part of their business models, Attias said.
"We selected more than 750 companies, startup technology companies, many of them in artificial intelligence sectors," he explained.
In addition to the heads of state who will attend, global business and investment leaders attending this year include Bretton Woods Committee Director Laura Cha; Alphabet and Google President and Chief Investment Officer Ruth Porat; Schmidt Family Foundation and Schmidt Sciences Founder Eric Schmidt; Citi CEO Jane Fraser; Bridgewater Associates Founder Ray Dalio; and Snap Inc Co-Founder and CEO Evan Spiegel.
But other high-profile guests include Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman; the governor of the Saudi Public Investment Fund, Yasir Al-Rumayyan; the Chancellor of the Exchequer of the United Kingdom, Rachel Reeves; the founder of Grameen Bank, Mohammed Yunus; the special presidential envoy of Russia, Kirill Dmitriev; the director-general of the World Trade Organization, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala; and the governor of Tokyo, Yuriko Koike. /Pamphlet/
