Argita Malltezi has long been rumored as the person who approached Lulzim Basha in the Democratic Party, since for many people, the latter was known as an acquaintance of hers.
But she has denied this, showing that Basha came to Tirana with political ambitions, while at that time there was an invitation from another opposition party to join.
"No it was not. He cannot take this on. He came to Tirana with his own decision to engage in politics and had an invitation from another opposition party. He asked to meet with the PD structures and then he met with Berisha. Of course, he was a supported person in terms of the commitments assigned to him by the government, but I did not interfere in such things", said Malltezi in an interview for A2 CNN.
