Former prime minister Sali Berisha has made public today in the media a strong development related to the incinerator affair, where as Edi Rama pointed out and the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, are doing everything to be the real owners of what he called ' the steal of the century'.
According to Berisha, the shareholders of the company Geogenix BV have come to Tirana to hold a meeting at the Seized Assets Agency, as they seek to bring 100 million euros to Albania, with unclear sources, to invest in the Tirana incinerator.
The former prime minister accuses that this money comes from Tehran, where according to Berisha, Erion Veliaj has made several trips to get a loan for the Tirana incinerator. He added that after investing 100 million euros in question, the group will benefit from 25 million euros, while then, through a reliable person, they will return the incinerator in the name of Mirel Mërtir, which according to him is controlled by Veliaj.

So, I have denounced Erion Veliaj's trips with Presec, with charters, Erion Veliaj's meetings, but what is now, I can tell you that Belind Kelliçi has denounced and documented yesterday with documents, submitted the file to SPAK, in which proves that these individuals, interrogated by the Italian but also the Albanian authorities, have deceived both the Italian and the Albanian authorities. After the group of experts working with Mr. Kelliçi, they have original documents that prove the opposite of what Preseci and Tosi have stated in the Italian and Albanian prosecution.
According to their statements, they have no relationship and do not know Zoto and Mërtir at all, while the documents submitted to SPAK show that they met with Klodian Zoto and Mërtir often during 2022. While Klodian Zoto in 2021 was a person in research, while they met in 2022. Meetings, gatherings were held in Milan, Switzerland and Vienna.
These gentlemen who come today with the mediation, according to sources, of Erion Veliaj, I have denounced Veliaj's early connections with Tehran, they have found, from sources who want an investigation, 100 million euros in debt. From this they benefit themselves 25 million euros bonus. Then these shares will be returned through a trusted person, Mirel Mërtir, i.e. Erion Veliaj. Martyrdom, they now say, has passed from Vienna to the Netherlands. It is even said that he found shelter there, I don't know, but the prosecution has no interest in these matters at all.
These are other developments in the theft of the century affair where Erion Veliaj and Edi Rama are doing everything to remain its real owners.
