Ali Hallaçi, currently holds the post of prefect of Kukes, a candidate who is rumored within the socialist camp and local structures in the area, to compete in the next local elections. Hallaçi was the mufti of Kukës in 2001-2010, while from May 2022 he holds the post of prefect.

It is learned from the sources that the political leader of the district, Pandeli Majko, has held meetings with the 4 possible candidates for the next race.
As for the rival camp, the only name that has so far confirmed the candidacy is Admir Sinamati.
Gjic's former rival said on May 14 under the slogan "We win together" that he will enter the competition again, which is expected to take place in the first 2 weeks of August. According to Article 10 of the Electoral Code, in case of interruption of the mandate, new elections are held no earlier than 30 days and no later than 45 days from the date of notification of the interruption of the mandate.
