DP MP Kreshnik Çollaku has commented on the latest developments in the opposition camp, with some visible factions in the ranks of the Democrats.
As he made a description of the entire line of conflict between the official DP and Reestablishment, Çollaku states that Berisha and his people have not accepted any offer for cooperation.
"We asked to stop the construction of parallel structures by Berisha, and our platform was not accepted by the other side. We all know that one-sided elections were held, building parallel structures, the rest stood in wait, the total messages were that there was no one-sided decision-making.
PD demanded that we go to the elections with common candidates, with the consciousness that we are in danger if we are divided. The Pulpit side did not accept this offer, as we were asked to recognize their statute a priori, this did not happen and the situation continued. We invited all the candidates who came out of the primaries to compete under the PD banner, without any conditions, this solution and offer was also rejected. Merging in common lists with LSI was preferred. The result of May 14 was a disaster", said Çollaku in Fax news, who also explained the reasons why the elections of July 29 should be held.
"We come to a situation where we are without a chairman, we collected more than 100 thousand votes, but from the point of view of organization, we are in an amorphous situation. A party is in charge and with fragmented forums, it cannot continue to behave in the same way, it should be done in a binary manner. It is an emergency to fill vacancies. I am in favor of the union with all the democrats, but the Court's decision clearly states that the Reestablishment cannot continue to exist", said Çollaku.
The DP deputy said that in the event Rithemelimi agrees to cease to exist, he would be the first to request the postponement of holding elections in the DP.
"The main person who has the power to unblock this situation is Mr. Berisha, if he had the will, there would be no more obstacles," said the democratic deputy.
As for the re-candidacy of Lulzim Basha, Çollaku said that Basha is more favored than Hani, but he has not yet decided whether he will vote for him or not.
"Gjergj Hani is more disadvantaged in relation to Basha, as he does not have as good an acquaintance with the structures as Mr. Basha. I am not one of Mr. Basha's fans, I had and have my reservations about him, since 2017, even when those who insult him today stood in his arms. If I will vote for him or not, I will say it quite openly and bluntly, because I want to hear if he will have the strength to face the mistakes of the past," he said .
