Former minister Besnik Mustafaj has commented on the developments within the opposition in the country and the future of its leaders.
When asked if Sali Berisha should run again for prime minister of the country, he said that it is up to Berisha, he said that the election of the prime minister will be voted on within the party.
According to him, Berisha should not be told to "go" for a new figure to come, but another leader should emerge from the ranks of the party.
As for the head of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, Mustafaj said that the biggest test for him as a democrat and leader will be the will he will show for the union of the democrats.
"In the tradition of Albanian parties, a shadow government has never been appointed. We are in a tradition of over 30 years. Berisha, as far as he is concerned, has said that the election of the prime minister will be voted on within the party.
If someone else comes out, he should come out of there, not tell Berisha to leave and let someone else come. If there is a vote, there must be at least 3 candidates.
Not everyone supports Berisha, but the parliamentary group is the one that has united the will of the democrats.
Edi Rama should not prevent this group from having funds from those provided by law. He must not even intervene to divide them. For me, the main culprit for the state of the opposition is the government.
I don't see that Basha has made a difference, nor the way of doing politics. For me, the big test for him as a democrat and leader is how much will he will show for the union. He continues with the exceptions, for me he is delving into mistakes", he said, invited to the show "Kjo Javë".
