The Americans seem to have entered the game as far as the developments expected from the Parliament are concerned. The opposition is in chaos, while a number of important issues are waiting to be discussed and approved in the Assembly, such as the Ombudsman, but also the revision of some justice reform laws. For this reason, US Chargé d'Affaires David Wisner has been set in motion. The latter met today Klotilda Bushka and Dhurata Çupin, the heads of the Laws Commission, where he gave directives on the above issues.
The American envoy expressed that it is important to find a common language in the Assembly, as this is essential for a healthy democracy.
To discuss legislative priorities for the Assembly, US Chargé d'Affaires David Wisner met with Chair Klotilda Bushka and Vice Chair Dhurata Çupi of the Committee on Legal Affairs, Public Administration, and Human Rights this afternoon . They agreed on the importance of key positions such as the Ombudsman, the critical nature of Albania's judicial reform efforts, as well as the role that the majority and the opposition play in a healthy democracy," the embassy announced .
