Today, Prime Minister Edi Rama held a media conference with the Italian Deputy Prime Minister, and at the same time Foreign Minister, Antonio Tajani after the meeting of the Joint Committee for Investments, Economic and Social Affairs, Albania-Italy.
During his speech, the head of the government mentioned the excellent cooperation between the two countries.
Rama thanked Tajani for the commitment of the current Italian government in all issues for the region, describing Italy as an "advocate" and the strongest voice in Brussels for Albania, thus sending an indirect message to Greece that threatens us with the blocking of funds as revenge for the Beleri case.
"This means that not only the common language, since Italian is the second language of Albanians, but also the bilateral, international political language is the same. This has the same positions on all issues and we are honored that Italy is our most trusted ally at the European level and the strongest voice in Brussels to support Albania and the Western Balkans in the European journey. We are very pleased that this government has a special commitment to move from many promises of being together and moving from these promises to concrete facts in the field of the economy, in common insurance policies," Rama emphasized.
Rama said that good news for Albanians in Italy is the pension agreement, which according to him is nearing completion.
"I want to tell the Albanians that there are Albanians who have been in Italy for years and contribute to the development of the Italian economy, the agreement on pensions is an achievement as a starting point for many others. All the many Albanians who have worked and are working in Italy will finally raise a toast to the glory of the Italian Republic and for this the government will bring this initiative to an end from a social point of view," he said.
