Alesia Balliu, who was not allowed to run on May 23 for the position of leader of the Democratic Party, has accused Sali Berisha of the way he dictated the process and leads the Democratic Party.
Balliu stated that he has sent e-mails to Western chancelleries and the embassies of the US and Great Britain to denounce what he considers the "farce" of May 23 with which Berisha is usurping the Democratic Party.
On the ABC News show 'Ora Zero', Balliu stated that there is no competition in the DP and Berisha has violated the statute of the Democratic Party. According to Balliu, if there had been a regular process, she and Ervin Salianji would have defeated Berisha in the race for the chairmanship of the DP.
She further emphasized that she has initiated contacts with internationals and has received reactions and meetings on the issue she raised. Balliu added that together with Salianji they are waging a battle for democracy and democratic principles within the DP.
" I have sent my e-mail to all Western chancelleries, but also to embassies such as the US and Great Britain. Seeing all the events, I was forced to take steps to denounce the farce with which Berisha is usurping the DP. In a race, Salianji and I could have beaten him. The coward Berisha knew this.
This is not a competition, Berisha has violated the statute of the Democratic Party. I have denounced him and will have meetings in the coming months, I have received reactions and have had meetings with internationals. Salianji and I are fighting a battle for democracy and democratic principles. I will take him to court for the article he proposed himself and approved himself. I am preparing a lawsuit against Berisha, who has taken the DP hostage ", Balliu stressed.
