The Democratic Party has held elections for the leadership of its branches in Memaliaj and Selenica, announcing the winners after the completion of the counting process.
In Memaliaj, Florian Çela has been elected as the new head of the DP branch. Following the result, Democratic MP Tritan Shehu reacted, congratulating Çela on his victory and congratulating the other candidates in the race, Dituri Kociu and Teme Rama, for their participation in the process.
Shehu also expressed gratitude for the former branch leader, Bujar Kapllani, appreciating his role in leading the Democrats through difficult political periods.
" Without a doubt, this electoral process will serve to strengthen, expand and further progress the Memaliaj branch of the DP. New battles await us in confronting this regime ," declared the democratic deputy.
Meanwhile, in Selenica, Arbër Sulaj was declared the winner of the elections, securing 113 votes against 25 votes for the other candidate, Shpëtim Ballaj.
According to the official minutes, 138 members of the Democratic Party participated in the vote, while the process was conducted by the counting commission at the DP branch in Selenica.
After the certification of the result, Arbër Sulaj will now lead the Democratic Party Branch in Selenica.
