The head of the Democratic Party parliamentary group, Gazment Bardhi, has reacted after incidents during the opposition protest, accusing police forces of throwing tear gas inside a mosque.
Bardhi states that the gas attack occurred at a moment when, according to him, there were no protesters in the premises of the religious building.
"Throwing tear gas inside the mosque, at a time when there are no protesters, constitutes a serious and unacceptable act. It is a blatant violation of freedom of religion and a brutal attempt to prevent Muslim believers from performing their rites after iftar," Bardhi wrote.
He described the event as an action that "resembles the practices of a repressive regime" and said that the use of such methods in a democratic country is unacceptable.
