Lulzim Basha spoke after his re-election as head of the Democratic Party. Today there was a vote for the chairman and Basha was elected chairman with nearly 18 thousand votes, in front of Gjergji Hani.
Basha, speaking from the headquarters of the DP in Vula, thanked the supporters, as he said that he is aware of the difficulties the party is in. On the other hand, he attacked Berisha and those who have opposed him. According to him, DP is pushing those who want to maintain the status quo into a crisis.
" Dear friends, ladies and gentlemen, democrats on the side of Albania, a heartfelt thank you to all of you, for the center in these difficult and challenging times.
For your participation in scorching natural and artificial temperatures, proving that Democrats remain the hope of this country. Thanks and gratitude to the leadership structures of DP who conducted these peaceful elections. Acknowledgment to the representatives in the voting commissions, special thanks to Gjegj Hani who, with the power of his argument, the purity of his soul, with his dedication to DP and Albania, turned this process into a true debate of values. Thank you George. I am aware of the difficult time we have gone through and the challenges facing the DP, the Democrats and the opposition. Rivers of distrust still flow, somewhat sponsored by those who love Albania at all costs, who love Albania like this, without economic opportunities, without congruence neither in politics nor in the economy, with the media under censorship, with justice under pressure", said Basha.
According to him, everything today does not mark the vote for an individual, but marks the start of work and the work begins to build between the two banks of the rivers of distrust, the bridge between today's bank of despair of the Albanians. It seems as if he also gave a message of unity, as PD is in the worst period.
" It is not going to be easy, but the Democrats showed that we are ready to face another battle. Albania expects the democrats to return to their duties to protect the public interest . Let's start this journey together without cynicism and malice towards anyone. With compassion for the fate of every Albanian full of hope, for the mission we have set ourselves and today we take the first step ", he said.
We remember that Basha managed to win with 16,196 votes against Gjergji Hani, who received 1,657 votes.
