The former head of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, has intensified meetings with the Democrats. He stopped this afternoon at unit 4 in Tirana, after the meetings he had in Vlora in the morning. Basha continued to attack Berisha, sending him a message that he too should resign. Basha says that the defeat happened because of the fault of the head of "Foltore".
" It is always a pleasure to talk with friends and contributors of the Democratic Party of Branch 4 in Tirana. I listened attentively to their every word and shared with them my vision for the next steps that we must follow to turn the Democratic Party into the hope of Albanians.
We have had a difficult time. Within our family, a war started for personal interests that damaged the interests of democrats and Albanians. When things go wrong, the test of true leadership is whether you sacrifice others or yourself. A false leadership is one that sacrifices others for its own interests.
I decided to withdraw in order to prevent the war from continuing and to give a chance to a peace between us, otherwise the only beneficiary would be our adversary. What I hoped for did not happen! Things went from bad to worse. May 14 is proof of that!
The Democratic Party can never win without an alliance with the US, Great Britain and the European Union. Now the time has come to open everyone's eyes, because personal problems cannot become an obstacle for democrats and Albanians who want change ", writes Basha on social networks.
