"Corruption is a major obstacle for young people to realize their dreams," said EU Ambassador Gonzato.
The European Union Ambassador to Tirana, Silvio Gonzato, said today that social dialogue plays a role in Albania and is an important part of social and employment policies, which are also part of chapter number 3 of the group that will open very soon.
Gonzato participated in the meeting 'Social Dialogue in the Western Balkans'. During his speech, Gonzato emphasized that young people often worry about the future and this leads to the desire to emigrate because they have job insecurity, which can also come from informal employment.
Gonzato said that another concern is the quality of education, while emphasizing that corruption is also a major obstacle for young people to realize their dreams. He said that Albania lacks a merit-based system.
While the prime minister boasts about the quality of education, technology and high salaries of teachers, Gonzato has cut off Rama by telling him that corruption is killing the dreams of young people. Even in the program proposed by the Socialist Party, 5 days ago, Rama said that security in schools will be guaranteed with intelligent cameras and promised free school transportation for students from home to school and vice versa.
"Social dialogue plays a role in Albania's health and is an important part of social and employment policies that are also part of group chapter number 3 that will open very soon.
Social dialogue is not only important for membership but also for cohesion.
Young people are often worried about the future and this leads to the desire to emigrate, because they have job insecurity, this can also come from informal employment, they are not paid for days when they are not well.
Another concern is the quality of education. But corruption is also a major obstacle for young people to realize their dreams. A system based on merit is missing. We need a meaningful social dialogue.
NGOs are often in a better position than officials to talk to young people.
"The EU is at your side to help you with employment and social dialogue, through the growth plan that addresses socio-economic issues in Albania but in the Western Balkans as a whole ," said Gonzato.
