Beleri accuses Rama: He is directing justice with his political intervention

The Mayor of Himara, Fredi Beleri, has accused Prime Minister Edi Rama that for the umpteenth time in the last seven months, with his political interventions, he directs Albanian justice. Through a post on the Facebook social network, Beleri emphasizes that Rama's intervention is a violation of the presumption of innocence, as defined in article 6 par. 2 of the European Convention on Human Rights.

" Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, for the umpteenth time in the last seven months, directs Albanian justice with his political interventions.

Untruthfully, he states that I was arrested in the act for buying and selling votes. The court has not yet decided on the real circumstances of my arrest, while I myself have submitted a complaint to the court regarding the arrest in flagrante delicto, a complaint which has not yet been reviewed by the competent court. On the other hand, Mr. Rama instructs the judges and declares that he was in flagrante delicto!

I wonder whether or not he has seen the video of my arrest, accidentally captured by a restaurant camera on Himara promenade? Did he see me talking to my lawyer and cousin?

The intervention of Mr. Rama is a violation of the presumption of innocence, as clearly defined in Article 6 par.2 of the European Convention on Human Rights. Let him understand that until proven guilty or not, I am presumed innocent.

This time, Edi Rama does not hesitate to intervene in the matter of my oath, a matter which is expected to be examined. It declares word for word, referring to my person: "He cannot swear, as our law is very clear about the conditions under which the oath is taken."

Until now, he has been telling us that it is justice that will decide and that he himself does not want to influence the court's decision. Since you now see that the hearing related to the review of my request to take the oath will take place on December 4, 2023, it is changing tactics. It directs judges to examine the conditions under which the oath is administered and prejudges their decision-making. In this way, it forces the court to stop me from swearing.

Let him show restraint, as befits the position he holds. After all, he is the prime minister! Let him act like one! ", writes Beleri in his post on Facebook.
