The arrest by SPAK of Vangjush Dako has brought many reactions in Albanian politics and not only. Dako, in addition to abuses at the time he was mayor of Durrës, has also been accused of his connections with well-known crime figures. Ben Blushi stated years ago that Dako was the realtor for Lulzim Berisha.
In a speech in the Assembly in 2016, at that time a member of parliament, Ben Blushi accused the government and the justice system regarding the decision given to release Lulzim Berisha from prison.
From the pulpit, Blushi said that by a decision of the 'face of the Renaissance', the mayor of Durrës Vangjush Dako, a person who killed 5 people was released. He asserted, among other things, that he does not believe that the vetting law will come into force.
"I want to take the case that happened in Durrës. A person who killed 5 people was released. Why was he released? It was released that a mayor, the true face of the Renaissance, gave him a positive assessment and acted as the realtor, between the judge and the murderer. It is the policy following the decisions of the judiciary. How is it possible that a majority like the renaissance has repeated this thing? The case of Kavaja, from Durrës. Not to talk too much about these MPs here. Who intervenes in the courts in Albania? What happened in Durrës? Who will they hire? One who is a killer? And they take him to clean the boulevard of Durrës." , said Blushi.
