The member of the Presidency, Jonila Godole, spoke after the meeting that took place yesterday.
Godole said in a statement to the media that they should have started with an analysis to determine why the DP is in this situation and then start the grassroots elections for the new president.
"I have presented a proposal on how we can go to the elections and the first most important point was the analysis. In DP, the analysis of the elections is over. After the March 6 elections, I said we should do an analysis in order to learn why we are here so that this thing that happened today does not happen to us. Today I told you, be careful, colleagues, we need to do an analysis and not rush today to choose and start voting for the president. It is not the president's job, the important thing is that DP had to show that it is a different party, it is a party that learns from its mistakes, analyzes the defeat deeply, going to the base but also asking DP sympathizers. Yesterday, only after we have this basic opinion, we will analyze, learn some lessons, what is wrong with the DP that only 100 thousand people voted for it. I am very sure that there are 700 thousand others who would like to vote for DP, but with a new leadership. What does new leadership mean? A leadership that emerges from analysis, from voting with a transparent election. I proposed an in-depth analysis and a start of the process of how this analysis would be done with a working group where members of the presidency, deputies and independent external experts would be involved so that we could be very objective about the disease, who is the diagnosis , from what DP suffers and then the process of voting, structures and then the race for president started", said Godole.
