Today, a court hearing is being held at the Special Court against former president Ilir Meta, where he is seen inside a glass cage making symbolic gestures, including the eagle and the number 7 with his hands.
Number 7 was Meta's irony with SPAK, who stated in another process that the conditions in the cage are five-star.
"It has seven cage stars," said Meta.
Meanwhile, Monika Kryemadhi is seen concentrating on the court documents. She is sitting next to her ex-husband, but they are separated by a glass cage.
Meta offered a guarantee of 50 thousand euros in search of his release, but the Court Against Corruption and Organized Crime rejected this request of the former head of state, leaving him in prison.
Meta is accused of three criminal offenses, which were communicated to him on August 4, 2025, regarding the CEZ/DIA file and lobbying in the US. He is accused of concealing assets, money laundering and corruption.
He has been in custody since October 2024, while Kryemadhi is under a mandatory reporting requirement. The “Meta” file also includes investigations into Kryemadhi’s mother, Pirro Xhixho, and Ema Çoku.
The defendants are accused of several criminal offenses, including passive corruption, money laundering, and failure to declare assets.
