The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has made strong accusations against Prime Minister Edi Rama, stating that Ergys Agasi acted with direct instructions from the head of government and that his power stemmed from political support.
From Kruja, Berisha said that Agasi "received Rama's instructions every night" and that, according to him, he had become powerful because of his connection with the Prime Minister. "Ergys Agasi was an ordinary person, but he became powerful because he was Edi Rama," Berisha said.
He added that Agasi had influence in important state structures, also mentioning interference in the State Police.
" You heard about Ergys Agasi. What is Ergys Agasi? A man who has a big office that films everything, organizes murders, calls judges and police chiefs. Where is he? This is Edi Rama, Ergys Agasi was an ordinary man, but he became powerful because he was Edi Rama. He took Rama's instructions every night. There are no more evil men than Taulant Balla, Ervin Hoxhaj and Çuçi. I don't want to talk about them. Gysi removed all three. He dismissed all three from their posts because he showed zero tolerance towards them for interfering in the crime police. "You have nothing to do with Proda... They called one of them and said, Minister, we are severing our relationship with these three criminals in the police and he said I have no authority over them. All authority is with the Prime Minister..." He called him "Take the legen and tell them that I have it in my hands and after a month he dismissed him. "But this is Ergysi, Ergysi was Edi Rama. We are governed by a man who is the head of the most dangerous criminal organization. That is why we are at a dangerous crossroads today ," Berisha said.
