Former DP MP Ervin Salianji challenged Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha, if the latter is sure of support within the party, to face the Democrats' vote in the race for the leader of the blue headquarters.
"I agree to enter the race even with these problems that the DP has today. There are no lists. It is not known who the voters are today! There is no equal time, only Mr. Berisha uses the party's infrastructure. Only Mr. Berisha uses the financial resources. There is no one to protect him except for those who are paid, there are also clowns. Why doesn't Mr. Berisha accept, if he is sure and has support, to run? Because you have to be, I don't know what level to say that Rama caught this, this guy finances this, where and how?! Because I have done prison, these guys have done tenders and licenses. I have won against Rama in the elections and in every election I have had the best result within the DP. These guys were defeated by Rama, they were torn apart. I stole from them, but why didn't they steal from me, why didn't they steal from them in Kavaja, Kukës, Fushë-Arrës. Are you sure that you have support? Go out and prove it by voting. Salianji also spoke about the possibility of his expulsion from the DP and said he has no intention of starting a legal battle within the DP, so as not to give Rama an advantage.
"The danger of autocracies within the party certainly exists. But there is a model here, if we ask Edi Rama for free, equal and fair elections, he must provide his own counter-model. I do politics that is not a momentary duel. This path leads the DP to the abyss.
